Secrets of the Dead: World's Biggest Bomb DVD

On March 1, 1954, the U.S. conducted the "Castle Bravo" hydrogen test, which unleashed a 15 megaton explosion--three times larger than expected--that vaporized three entire coral islands and sent ash 100,000 feet in the air. While the U.S. decided to focus its efforts on smaller, more precise bombs, the Soviet Union continued to build massive bombs capable of destroying whole cities. When the 50-megaton Tsar bomb was detonated over the north European island of Novaya Zemlya, it sent a shock wave three times around the world. Learn about the story behind the race to build these massive bombs in this DVD, narrated by Liev Schreiber. Widescreen; approx. 1 hr.
