In 1928, Edith Warner moved from Pennsylvania to a house near Los Alamos where she opened a tea room for her neighbors. Her neighbors included San Ildefonso Indians, and in the 40s, the scientists working at the top secret Los Alamos Lab. This book presents Warner’s letters, essays and journals giving the reader a unique look at life in the traditional Native American world and the edge of the modern era represented by the Manhattan Project.
