Election Day Camp - November 2

Tuesday, November 2nd

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is pleased to offer single-day themed camps for the Fall Break, Election Day, Veterans Day, Winter Break, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents Day, and Spring Break school holidays. Election Day camp is geared to campers in grades K-6th.

Our education team has divided camp topics into single day camps that are multi-age collaborative camper experiences from 8:30 am- 3:30 pm, with FREE before-and-aftercare starting at 7:30 am and ending at 5:30 pm. Each in person camp will maintain CDC and state safety protocols (where applicable). All campers and staff must wear face masks unless otherwise noted prior to camp. Enrollment is limited to 20 children per camp.

Just Add a Little H2O (grades K-2)

Join us as we explore the properties of water, including cohesion, surface tension, capillary action, and more. How can water move upwards? Why do some things that are heavier than water float on its surface? What are surfactants? We’ll create a tornado in a bottle and investigate how water behaves in its different states of matter. This camp is sure to be water play at its best!

It’s Electrifying! (grades 3-6)

Join us as we plug into the science of electricity! We’ll experiment with static and current electricity including levitating a Mylar orb, building a skittering bot, and using our bodies to open and close a circuit! Construct your own light wand, electromagnetic motor, and more!

Election Day Camp runs from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Please drop off your camper no earlier than 7:30 am and pick up on or before 5:30 pm. Late fees apply for campers who have not been picked up by that time. Children should bring two snacks, a lunch, and a refillable water bottle each day of Election Day Camp.

Single-day camps are $70.00 per session. Members receive a $5.00 discount on camp enrollment costs. For more information, please email our Director of Education, Lisa Guida, at lguida@nuclearmuseum.org.
