Veterans Day Camp - November 11

Thursday, November 11th

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is pleased to offer single-day themed camps for the Fall Break, Election Day, Veterans Day, Winter Break, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents Day, and Spring Break school holidays. Veterans Day camp is geared to campers in grades K-6th.

Our education team has divided camp topics into single day camps that are multi-age collaborative camper experiences from 8:30 am- 3:30 pm, with FREE before-and-aftercare starting at 7:30 am and ending at 5:30 pm. Each in person camp will maintain CDC and state safety protocols (where applicable). All campers and staff must wear face masks unless otherwise noted prior to camp. Enrollment is limited to 20 children per camp.

Interesting Insects (Grades K-2)

Join us as we learn to distinguish between insects and non-insects, create an exoskeleton and then shed it, construct your own leaf crawler, study bees, make a beeswax candle, munch on some edible insects! This is the perfect place to start for aspiring entomologists!

Magnetic Adventures (Grades 3-6)

This camp has everything an aspiring scientist needs to perform experiments in magnetism! Make a magnetic pyramid! Build your own compass! Investigate magnetic poles, field lines, force, and more!

Veterans Day Camp runs from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Please drop off your camper no earlier than 7:30 am and pick up on or before 5:30 pm. Late fees apply for campers who have not been picked up by that time. Children should bring two snacks, a lunch, and a refillable water bottle each day of Veterans Day Camp.

Single-day camps are $70.00 per session. Members receive a $5.00 discount on camp enrollment costs. For more information, please email our Director of Education, Lisa Guida, at lguida@nuclearmuseum.org.
