January 24 – July 5, 2026 | Museum of Nuclear Science & History
Step into a striking visual journey through America’s nuclear legacy. American Nukes features 90 black-and-white photographs captured by artist Darin Boville during his 35,000-mile exploration of nuclear weapon displays across the United States.
This exhibit sheds light on a subject often overlooked: the enduring presence and policy implications of nuclear weapons. Through stark imagery and insightful captions, visitors will discover surprising facts—like why the Hiroshima bomb was never tested and how modern warheads have evolved.
American Nukes is on display from January 24 through July 5, 2026.

Darin Boville is a photographer and writer whose work is held in the collections of major museums, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. His projects often probe the intersection of technology, history, and culture.
Boville holds a graduate degree from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and previously worked in U.S. technology policy before returning to art full-time.
