Join the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History to meet Francis Gary Powers, Jr., author of "Spy Pilot" and son of the U-2 spy pilot, for a special screening of Bridge of Spies (rated PG-13) at the museum.
The doors will open at 5:30 PM, and Francis Gary Powers, Jr., will speak briefly about his father's life and experiences in Cold War espionage. The movie, Bridge of Spies, starring Tom Hanks, will then be shown, followed by Q&A and a book signing by Francis Gary Powers, Jr.

Francis Gary Powers, Jr. is a prominent historian and expert on the Cold War, widely known as the son of U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers, Sr., whose 1960 shooting down over the Soviet Union caused a major international incident. Powers, Jr. is the author of multiple books on the subject, including Spy Pilot and Letters from a Soviet Prison, and frequently lectures internationally and appears on major channels such as C-SPAN and the History Channel. He is the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of The Cold War Museum, served as the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee for the Cold War Theme Study, and consulted for the 2015 Steven Spielberg thriller, Bridge of Spies, about his father's spy exchange. Recognized for his dedication to honoring Cold War veterans, he was selected as one of the "Ten Outstanding Young Americans" in 2002 and holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration and U.S. History.
