June 22: Movie Under the Wings, “October Sky”

Join the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History for Movie Under the Wings, an amazing outdoor event featuring the iconic movie, “October Sky.” Saturday, June 22, under the airplanes in Heritage Park. Doors will open at 7:30 pm for this unique museum experience, and the movie will begin at dark.

Be entertained with fun, family-friendly activities before the movie starts, enjoy delicious food from local food trucks and beer from the Bombs Away Beer Company throughout the evening and tour the museum exhibits at your leisure! 

Bring a portable outdoor chair to enjoy your evening in comfort, and please leave all four-legged friends at home (assistance/service dogs are always welcome). No alcohol, smoking or firearms will be permitted on museum property. No outside food or drink will be allowed into the event.

The event is included with museum admission of $10 for adults, $8 for youth, seniors and veterans, and $7 for active military (these are admission prices for New Mexico residents, out-of-state admission can be found here). This is a special, fundraising event that is not covered by museum membership or other passes. Paid admission into the museum is required by all parties. June 22, 2019, after-hours admission may be purchased at the door on Saturday, June 22, or in advance coming soon. Purchase your June 22 museum admission now, and avoid standing in line the night of the event, or purchase your museum admission at the door.

Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Day - May 11

Celebrate the cultural traditions, ancestry, native languages and unique experiences represented among ethnic groups from Asia and the Pacific on Saturday, May 11, 2019. Lion dancers, Taiko drumming, calligraphy and origami demonstrations and many more exciting activities will fill this special day from 10 am to 3 pm.

"Science is Everywhere" Summer Camp - May 28 through August 9

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is pleased to offer week-long, themed camp for summer 2019. These camps are geared to campers Pre-K and Kindergarten through 7th grades. Sessions include "Foodie Science", "STEMinists: Geosciences Edition", Got Game?", "Movie Magic" and many more!
