The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History has a part-time position opening for a store clerk working at the admissions counter and in the museum store. This position is 20-25 hours weekly. Scheduled hours will be between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, Monday through Sunday, including holidays. May be required to work some evening special events. Schedule needs to be flexible.
Responsibilities
- Welcome visitors to the Museum
- Maintain overall knowledge of the Museum and store
- Help customers with the selection of merchandise
- Respond to all concerns/inquiries of customers quickly with a sense of importance
- Handle money and other payment transactions, enter transactions into and operate the point-of-sale computer system
- Clearly communicate information regarding product availability and Museum information
- Answer the telephone pleasantly and professionally and transfer calls as needed
- Participate in store’s physical inventory process
- Maintain cleanliness of store
- Dispose of cardboard waste and trash
- Ensure stock levels on the sales floor are maintained
- Organize and price merchandise, maintain merchandise signage
- Make public address announcements when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by Museum management and supervisors
