What is the ASTC Passport Program
The ASTC Travel Passport Program offers free general admission to over 350 science centers and museums worldwide for members of participating institutions. For 2026, ASTC implemented a standardized minimum membership cost to qualify, excluding memberships priced under $100.
- The 90-Mile Rule: Free admission is only valid if the science center or museum you are visiting is more than 90 miles "as the crow flies" away from both your home residence and the specific museum where you hold your membership.
- New Membership Cost Threshold: Starting in 2026, ASTC standardized guidelines to remove reciprocal passport benefits for most museum memberships priced under $100.
- Admission Limits: Standard reciprocal admission covers general exhibits for up to two adults and four children (or as defined by your specific home membership tier).
- Exclusions: Special ticketed exhibits, planetariums, giant-screen/IMAX theaters, and parking fees are not included.
What to Bring When Visiting
- Your physical or digital membership card showing the ASTC logo.
- A valid photo ID or other proof of residence, as venues can request verification of your home address.
- Advance online ticket reservations are often unavailable for ASTC visitors; you may need to obtain tickets directly at the admissions desk.
