26th Annual Einstein Gala
NEW MEXICO'S BIGGEST SCIENCE PARTY
The Einstein Gala is New Mexico’s biggest science party of the year! This prestigious black-tie event is the Museum’s most important fundraising event, and in 2024, it will be held at Sandia Resort and Casino, starting at 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 16th. The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History staff and Board of Trustees invite you to dine with us and explore our amazing silent auction filled with the most unique items in Albuquerque. This year we've added a live auction for an incredible Walt Disney World adventure, a Kennedy Space Center adventure, a ride on a B-29 Superfortress, "FIFI," and more.
Join us as we honor our National Award honoree (click here for past recipients) for their contributions to the nuclear world, and experience entertainment featuring science experiments that will knock your socks off! Throughout the event, mobile bidding for the silent auction will take place and will continue throughout the evening.
Proceeds from the Einstein Gala help support the Museum’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) educational programs for K-12 students as well as professional development workshops for science and math teachers.
ABOUT THIS YEAR'S HONOREE
The 2024 Award of Nuclear Science & History honoree is Palo Verde Generating Station.
Palo Verde Generating Station has been the nation’s largest electricity maker and clean energy producer for nearly 30 years. With seven owners across four Southwestern states, the plant is a critical infrastructure asset, generating over 32 million megawatt-hours annually – enough power for more than 4 million homes and businesses.
Palo Verde has also been a leader in communicating the value of nuclear to local, regional, and national audiences. By creating positive partnerships with companies across nuclear technology platforms, Palo Verde has helped to forward a connection between nuclear innovation and everyday life.
The power plant, located west of Phoenix, AZ, employs about 2000 people and contributes greatly to Veterans Programs, career development platforms, and STEM education. It has been the title sponsor of Nuclear Science Week multiple times and has created the content used to educate everyone on nuclear energy, from nationally elected lawmakers to students ages 5 to 95!
