Science is Everywhere! Camps include 10 week-long camps during the summer, a week-long camp during spring break, and day camps during school year breaks. The Education Department has been especially creative in developing camp content and themes this year. Some examples include: the science of survival, weather phenomena, pop culture and science storytelling, mini-worlds and mega-worlds, retro-tech and the science of toys, luminescence, time-travel, and gaming science. Other tried and true camps include chemistry, physics, the animal kingdom, space travel, and more.

Camp was highlighted this year by a few special guests, including: KRQE Chief Meteorologist Grant Tosterud, Wicked Weather storm chasers, and Exotics of the Rainforest (exotic birds and insects).

Junior Docents - 23 Docents

Junior Docents are middle and high school students (ages 13-17) who volunteer at the museum on weekends, leading demonstrations and experiments. They get to do STEM activities while building their presentation, interpersonal, and customer service skills. They also present at museum events, including Spooky Science, Discover STEAM Day, and the Einstein Gala.

Counselor in Training (CIT) Program-12 CIT’s

CIT’s are an important part of Science is Everywhere! summer camp. They are kids, ages 13-17, who attend camp in part to have fun with STEM activities and in part to support staff in a semi-leadership role. CITs get to develop their leadership skills by working with campers (K-6^th-grade) engaged in STEM activities, and supporting teachers and adult counselors in day-to-day camp functions.
