Teachers Invited to Apply for Nuclear Science Week 2025 at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History

[Albuquerque, NM] – The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is now accepting applications from teachers to participate in Nuclear Science Week 2025, taking place October 20–24, 2025. This annual celebration invites educators to bring their students for a week of hands-on learning and exploration into the fascinating world of nuclear science.

Each day from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, students will participate in dynamic, hands-on activities led by museum educators, volunteers, and professionals from the nuclear industry. These interactive sessions will explore key topics such as nuclear energy, nuclear medicine, radiation, and the many ways nuclear science influences our daily lives. The program is specially designed to provide middle and high school students with meaningful STEM experiences that spark curiosity and inspire future learning.

Following the morning activities, students will enjoy lunch outdoors beneath the wings of historic aircraft and have time to explore the museum’s exhibits from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, rounding out a full day of discovery and engagement.

Thanks to generous grant funding, participating schools will receive free admission and busing, ensuring equitable access to this enriching educational opportunity.

“Nuclear Science Week is a powerful way to connect students with real-world science and inspire curiosity about the future of energy, medicine, and technology,” said Gabriel Nemiroff, Director of Education at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History. “We’re proud to offer a program that not only educates but empowers students to see themselves as future scientists, engineers, and innovators.”

Applications are due by September 29, 2025. Teachers interested in participating can apply now to secure a spot for their students.
