Discover how women reshaped the U.S. military during World War II. Women in World War II explores the groundbreaking service of millions of women who stepped into critical military roles after the attack on Pearl Harbor, challenging traditional gender norms and changing the future of the armed forces. Through personal stories, historical artifacts, and powerful examples, this exhibit highlights women’s service in organizations such as the Women’s Army Corps (WAC), Navy WAVES, Coast Guard SPARS, and the Marine Corps Women’s Reserve. Visitors will learn how women filled more than 200 military jobs, supported global operations, and paved the way for permanent inclusion in the U.S. military.
